My Baby is Growing Up! (Cue the tears…)
We’re back from our trip to Hawaii (more to come on that)! 🌺
As soon as we got home from Hawaii, I was able to catch a couple hours of sleep before waking up and heading to St. Louis for the APSE Conference. Came back from that and went right into birthday week!
Birthday week for our family may look a bit different than yours. Birthday week in our family=my husband’s birthday, followed the next day by mine, followed the next day by the baby’s, followed a couple days later by my sister’s! That’s right…my husband’s, mine, and our son’s birthdays are 3 days in a row! That also means I spent my birthday last year in labor. I joke that the best birthday gift I received last year was an epidural. 😂
Well, the year flew by. It’s hard to believe Nolan is already a 1 year old! Does that make him a toddler?! Or do we have to wait to call him that ’til he takes his first solo steps?
I chose a Mickey Mouse theme for his first birthday party, not so much because Nolan likes it (he actually prefers Elmo and Baby Shark), but because I love all the Mickey stuff. I’m not as Disney-obsessed as some others, but who doesn’t love Mickey?! My sis is also planning a trip to Disney World next year for the entire family, and my niece made sure to point out that Nolan will be free since he’ll be under 2! And while I spent my birthday last year prepping for Nolan’s arrival, I spent this year’s birthday prepping for his first birthday party.

The day turned out great! Thanks to all of our family and friends that helped us celebrate. This is one spoiled little boy! I can’t wait to see what the next year brings…adventure awaits!
